How do I set up Outlook (older versions)?
Step 1: To add your email address to Outlook, click File in the upper left.
Step 2: Click Add Account.
Step 3: Click the ‘Manual setup‘ option and click Next.
Step 4: Select the service type (IMAP or POP) and click Next.
- IMAP: keep messages synced to the server
- POP: download and store messages locally
Step 5: You should now be able to enter your email settings.
- User Information:
- Your Name: this is what is displayed on sent messages
- Email Address: your email
- Server Information:
- Account Type: choose between POP and IMAP.
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.example.com (replace example.com with your domain)
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.example.com (replace example.com with your domain)
- Login Information:
- User Name: this is your email address
- Password: your email password
- ‘Require log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)’ should not be checked.
Step 6: Before proceeding, click More Settings.
Step 7: Once the window loads, click the Outgoing Server tab. Make sure that ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’ is checked and that ”Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected.

Advanced POP Settings: You only need to worry about the Server Port Numbers section.
