Apple Updates
Sometimes, after an update on your iOS or macOS device, your emails will suddenly stop working. These updates sometimes occur in the background without any user input.
Correcting Connection Issues
Try these tricks if the account settings are still not working after you’ve followed one of the available walkthroughs.
- Ensure that there are no emails stuck in your outbox, and then restart the device. Sometimes, mail stuck in the mailbox will stop the settings from getting updated.
- If the verification process seems to be taking a long time, then it has most likely failed. You may want to close the settings and try again.
- If you are using a cellular device, you may not be able to update and test the settings while talking on the device. You may want to try again once you've finished your call.
- The final option is to remove the email address from the device and then re-add it. While there are no issues with this approach using an IMAP account, there is a risk of losing mail in a POP account that was stored on the device but not on the server. You will want to ensure that there is no important mail on the device that is not in your Webmail before removing the account. This lost mail would not be recoverable.
There is also a possibility that our server has blocked your IP address due to excessive failed login attempts. An easy way to test this on your mobile devices (ones with Wi-Fi and mobile data) is to try shutting off your Wi-Fi and connecting using your mobile data. If this works, your Wi-Fi IP address is blocked. Locate your IP address and contact our support team for assistance.
You can find your IP address by searching for “What is my IP” in your preferred search engine (e.g., Google, Yahoo, Bing). An IP is your network address and is displayed as four octets, separated by decimals (e.g., 172.217.13.99). Each octet is a number between 0 and 255.
